Artist Membership Guide

1. Joining Gallart

1. Create your artist account. Enter your name, e-mail address and a strong password.
2. Verify your e-mail. Gallart sends a verification message so the account cannot be created with an address you do not control.
3. Sign in to your secure dashboard. Before membership is active, the dashboard shows the membership payment area.
4. Complete the one-time lifetime membership payment. Payment is handled through PayPal.
5. Your artist editing tools are unlocked. You can then complete your profile and upload artworks.

An administrator can also create or activate an artist manually in exceptional situations. For normal public registration, the process above is the standard route.

2. What is the Artist Dashboard?

The Artist Dashboard is your private control page. It is not visible to ordinary visitors. From it you can maintain the information that appears on your public Gallart gallery.

3. Your artist profile

Your public page contains a short introduction and a longer biography. Public profile text should be written in English so it can be understood by Gallart's international visitors.

• Given name(s) and surname(s): Gallart requires at least one of each. Given names are formatted normally and surnames are displayed in CAPITAL LETTERS.
• Public-name length: the complete name is limited to 24 characters including spaces so it remains readable on the home page and Painters List.
• Short description: a brief 1–2 sentence introduction used in lists and previews.
• Biography: the fuller story of you and your art: background, themes, education, exhibitions, influences, techniques and artistic approach.
• Country: where you live or mainly work.
• Website / Instagram: optional links to your own professional artist presence.

You can return and improve this text later. Your gallery does not become permanently fixed after the first publication.

4. Preparing artwork images

Good photographs are important because visitors cannot see the original painting in person. Gallart accepts JPEG/JPG and PNG images. The current upload limit is 12 MB and 20 megapixels per file.

For most paintings, a clean JPG around 1600–2400 pixels on the longer side is a good practical size. Photograph the artwork straight, use soft daylight, turn off flash, avoid reflections and keep the phone or camera parallel to the painting.

5. Adding and editing artworks

You can display up to 12 artworks. Each artwork has its own editing page. A complete public artwork needs:

You can later replace an image without deleting the whole artwork entry, or change only the text, price or availability.

6. Choosing your representative image

One artwork can be selected as your representative image. Gallart uses it for your small thumbnail in the Painters List and, when applicable, in the newest-artists area of the home page.

The small thumbnail is created automatically as a centred square crop, so a painting with the important subject reasonably near the centre usually works best.

7. When does your artist page become public?

Your self-service artist page becomes eligible for public display when all of the following are true:

• your e-mail address has been verified;
• your lifetime membership is active;
• your account is active and not suspended;
• you have entered at least one given name and one surname;
• you have at least one fully completed artwork.

A fully completed artwork needs an image, title, year, technique/medium, width and height. If its status is Available, it must also have a price.

8. When can you appear on the Gallart home page?

The Gallart home page shows the four most recently published eligible artists. When your page first becomes eligible, you can appear in this New section. As newer artists are published, older entries naturally move out of the four positions.

Your artist page and Painters List entry remain available after you leave the New section. The home-page position is therefore a recent-publication display, not a permanent ranking or paid placement.

9. E-mail, passwords and account security

• Each artist account uses one verified e-mail address for sign-in, login verification, password recovery and private visitor messages sent through the artist page.
• The e-mail address itself is not displayed publicly. After joining, the artist can change it securely from Artist Dashboard → Account settings.
• A new e-mail becomes active only after the artist confirms a one-time link sent to that new address.
• Use a unique password with at least 12 characters, including upper-case, lower-case and a number.
• Artists can change their password themselves from Account settings by entering the current password and the new password twice.
• Do not share verification codes or your password with other people.
• If you forget your password, use Members Login → Lost Password.
• The reset process uses a time-limited, one-time link sent to your registered e-mail address.
• Gallart administrators do not need to know your current password.

10. Managing your gallery after publication

You can continue maintaining your gallery whenever your work changes. Typical updates include:

• improving your biography or short introduction;
• adding a new painting or replacing an older work;
• uploading a better photograph of an existing painting;
• changing a price;
• marking an artwork Sold or Not for sale;
• correcting a title, year, technique or dimensions;
• changing your representative image.

Saved changes are reflected on your public Gallart profile, so your page can remain a current portfolio rather than a one-time static listing.

11. Before you join

For the easiest start, prepare the following in advance:

You do not need to prepare all 12 works before joining. You can begin with one complete artwork and build the gallery later.
